Waking up the tumblr site
I am a chatty person. I have a lot to say and there isn’t always someone around to hear it. After much encouraging from the people who get to hear from me more than they would like - I figured this would be an easy place to get some of that information out. I’m a natural observer. I do like to sit back and watch, try and see if I can “figure out” what is going on and what is coming next.
Here are a few of the subjects that I have been known to “rant” about:
- FOOTBALL. Of course, I am a Huskers Fan.
- DATA. I love data and I love having information and stats to look at and see if I can try and figure out the story the data is going to tell.
- TECHNOLOGY. I work for a technology industry company. It is what you hear people talking about by the coffee pot. Our company is creating NEW products so there is a culture for everyone looking at whats next. I recently booted my iPhone for a Windows Phone. It is exciting to see how fast things move in technology and how the business evolves.
- TV. I am a TV junkie. I don’t sit around on the couch just watching TV, but it is on almost the entire time I am home. It is like my roommate. However, in the last year I went CABLE FREE. I have the package that only gets me the essential local stations. .
- CROCHET. I like making pretty things. I used to make jewelry too but precious metal prices have gone up way too much the last few years that it is just too expensive even though I used to sell quite a bit of it. People just aren’t willing to pay as much to make up for the increase. Yarn is a much cheaper commodity to make things out of.
My job for a technology company is to leverage our expertise for the good of the community. It is the evolution of corporate social responsibility. This has shifted my paradigm - I look for how the above categories relate back to social responsibility and I think that is a good base for what I am going to be posting up to tumblr.
