I’m playing a good team this week. The Durham Bulls got some computer generated award after our draft for having the best team. Here are some of my thoughts on what is going to happen.
I think Green Bay is going to have a good week. Sure, KC has taken over the nickname of the “worst team in the league” from Denver, but they still aren’t doing that great. Plus, the game is in Green Bay. With my opponents team being anchored by Aaron Rodgers - I think Yahoo! has his projected points a tad low. With that being said - I traded out BenJarvus Green-Ellis for the “Trojan Horse” of the NFL - Jordy Nelson. Jordy has out performed projected points every week and I think his good ol’ farm boy appearance makes most defensive coordinators underestimate his ability to get the ball to the end zone.
The fantasy projection computers are underestimating my QB, Matt Ryan, under projected in points today as well - but I know there is no way he will out score Aaron Rodgers. I made the decision to go for receivers FIRST in this year’s draft and wait to draft a QB. So, I am hoping that my Detroit combo continues to blow the minds of NFL commentators - Calvin Johnson and Jahvid Best. Throw in the solid, reliable performance of Maurice Jones-Drew, I will have some point action to combat the Aaron Rodgers factor. My match-up faces the challenge I had last year when I went for Aaron Rodgers in round 1 - a less than well-rounded buffet of receivers.
My week by week gamble of picking up a defense that I think will perform well based on previous performance, matchup and what is available on the waiver wire brings me to Atlanta this week. They have had 2 top ten performances in points since the start of the season but Seattle has appeared as the matchup team in top ten performances by fantasy Defense each week this season.
